My zayde was sick during my bubbie’s prom so she missed out on going. He then left to serve with the USAF in the UK during World War II. The got married in 1945 when he got back. Almost 62 years later, he’s still taking her out to a fancy lunch for Valentine’s Day. At Thanksgiving this year, I caught them cuddling on the couch. My grandparents are so cute.
