A True Yankee: Cowherd, Cano and Casual racism
This one is a little dated, but its one of my better ones. If you do not like baseball I still talk about casual racism in our society.

Spring training is the fan’s version of Leviticus 16:23-28. It is the ritual cleansing of all that went poorly the season before: the strikeouts, the errors, wild pitches. As pitchers and catchers gather every February, and the rest of the team follows 10 days later, we have our ritual cleansing - “The man who burns them must wash his clothes and bathe himself with water; afterward he may come into the camp” (Lev. 16:28) - and we all start spring cleansed and fresh.
Countdown to Spring Training: 2 Days
Hey there’s not many of us who play baseball… gotta keep an eye out! Let’s see though, just for fun, we got Ian Kinsler, & Ike Davis is Jewish but he kinda sucks. Ryan Braun has a Jewish father… That it? I guess that’s better than 10 years ago at least. It was Shawn Green… & that was it!

Designated Hits is a site that allows you to identify a player’s walk-up/entrance music. I just found out about it recently, which is a damn shame, because it is “the single most important website of our generation,” according to CNN. Okay, CNN didn’t actually report that, but they should. Happy tune searching!

Literally this was our entire conversation start to finish
- Mom, picks up my phone call without so much as a 'hello': CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!?!?!
- Me: Oh my God!
- Mom: Aw, he's like hyperventilating.
- Me: This is it, A-Rod needs to be done forever. Just put in Raul. Forever.
- Mom: I'm so glad you called!!
- Me: Okay bye.
- Mom: Love you, bye!
No, okay, really, stop talking about the Yankees payroll right fucking now.
Let’s see, our highest paid players, A-Rod and Tex, both had injuries this year and missed significant amounts of time. All the third basemen who went in for A-Rod during that time had combined better avg than him. Derek Jeter who had the most freaking hits in all the majors this year doesn’t even crack the top 25 players in terms of salary. Neither do Cano, Grandy, or Nunez or Ibanez, all of whom have been critical players in our road to victory. So…yeah, our victories are about more than just the payroll. Also, the Phillies had 3 guys over 20m and look where that got them! Tigers have 3 guys over 20m too and I don’t see any complaints about them being in the postseason or about Miggy’s triple crown. And the BoSox? Third highest payroll and they barely played like the majors this year!
EVERY YEAR PEOPLE, EVERY YEAR AND YOU NEED TO STOP RIGHT NOW THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
